I painted this on location at Cascade Gateway Park in Salem, Oregon. I go there often to feed the ducks with my kid and I was struck by the pattern of three rocks lined up, two in the water and one on land. I loved the reflections and the simple poetry of the combination of rocks and water. Some paintings take several studies and multiple attempts but this one came together almost without effort.
