Willamette Valley View

I painted this on location at Durant Farm at Red Ridge, outside of Dundee, Oregon. From the vantage point at the top of the hill, under the oak tree, the rolling hills of the Willamette Valley stretch away into the distance. Just barely visible is Mount Hood, a constant presence anywhere in the northern Willamette Valley. The lines of poles in the vineyard suggest order and cultivation, yet wild shapes and textures prevail. I particularly enjoy the sense of light and joy in this painting.
